How to navigate through Planner 5D

The Planner 5D Editor gives you access to the tools you need to build, furnish, view, and manage your project. The Editor includes an upper menu for project actions and a menu on the left for building and furnishing your design.

Before You Start

Features vary across platforms, and not all features available on the Web platform are available on other platforms and vice versa.


Web

When you open a project on Web, you're taken to the Editor, where you can create and edit your design in 2D and 3D.

Upper-left menu

The left side of the upper menu includes:

  • All Floor Plans — return to the list of floor plans in your Space. To learn more about organizing your work, see Spaces on Web.

  • Floor menu — view the current floor and move between floors.

  • Undo — undo your previous action.

  • Redo — restore an action you previously undid.


2D and 3D views

Use 2D and 3D at the top of the Editor to switch between the two views of your project.

  • 2D — work with your floor plan from above.

  • 3D — view and work with your project in 3D.


Upper-right menu

The right side of the upper menu provides access to the following tools:


Left-side menu

The menu on the left gives you access to the tools and catalogs used to build and furnish your project.

It includes:

  • Search — search the catalog for a specific item.

  • Search for items using an image, see How to search for items using an image

  • Build — create rooms, adjust your layout, and add construction elements. For detailed room instructions, see How to add a room.

  • Interior — browse furniture and other interior objects.

  • Exterior — browse outdoor objects such as trees, paths, and pools.

  • Favorites — access items you've marked as favorites.

  • New — browse recently added items.

  • Import — import your own 3D model from a file or image.

  • Shop — find furniture from your plan in local shops.

Working with selected objects

When you select an object in the Editor, additional controls become available for working with that object. See Menu of the Selected Object (Web) for more information.


iOS

On iOS, it all starts with the Home screen, where you can:

  • Quickly access the latest project you’ve been working on;

  • Upload a new project;

  • Use our AI tools;

  • Check what you’ve been working on recently in the Recent tab.


Docs

Use the icon Docs at the bottom menu to access the complete list of all your folders and documents in them:


Floor Plans

Floor plans tab lets you access all your projects and renders in one place


Profile

By clicking the Profile icon, you can access information about your account, including billing details, renders and textures, and your account email. You’ll also find an option to switch accounts if needed.


Editor controls

When you open a project, the main editing area displays your floor plan and the controls you can use while working on it.


Right-side menu

The right side of the Editor includes:

  • 2D/3D — switch between the 2D floor plan and 3D view.

  • Share — access options for sharing your project.

  • Camera — create a visual content of your project.

  • Floors — view and manage the floors in your project.

  • More — access additional project options.


Floors

Select the Floors icon to open the floor menu.

From here, you can:

  • View the floors in your project.

  • Select a floor to work on.

  • Use the plus (+) button to add a new floor.

  • Use the Edit icon to edit the floor list.


More options

Select the three dots on the right side of the Editor to access additional project tools.

From here, you can open Settings and other available project options.


Settings

The Settings menu includes:

  • Project Name — rename the project.

  • Appearance — select the appearance used in the Editor.

  • Measurements — select the measurement units.

  • Show measurements — show or hide measurements on the floor plan.

  • Objects — show or hide objects on the floor plan.

  • Lock Walls — prevent accidental wall movement.

  • Snapping — snap objects to each other.

  • Background — choose the background used for the project.

Undo and redo

The Undo and Redo controls are available near the bottom-right corner of the Editor.

  • Undo — reverse your previous action.

  • Redo — restore an action you previously undid.


Bottom menu

The bottom menu gives you access to the tools and catalogs used to build and furnish your project.

It includes:

  • Rooms — add rooms to your floor plan.

  • Construction — browse and add construction elements.

  • Interior — browse furniture and other interior items.

  • Exterior — browse items for outdoor areas.

  • Search — search the catalog for a specific item.

  • Search for items using an image, see How to search for items using an image


Browse the catalog

Select Construction, Interior, or Exterior to browse the available categories and items.

For example, the Interior catalog contains categories such as: Equipment, Rugs, Kitchenware, Decor, etc.

You can select a category to browse its items.


Search the catalog

Use Search when you want to find a particular item instead of browsing the available categories.

  1. Select Search in the bottom menu.

  2. Enter the item you want to find in the search field.

  3. Review the matching results.

  4. Select the item you want to add to your project.

macOS

You start from the main screen, where you can create a new project and open your existing projects. You can also switch to Renders to access renders you've created.


Profile

Select the Profile icon in the upper-right corner to access your profile information.

From here, you can:

  • Open Account Details.

  • Check your Premium access.

  • Check your available renders.

  • Select Change User if you want to access another account.


Project menu

Once you open a project, the menu at the top of the Editor gives you access to the tools you need to work on your design.


Left side

The left side provides tools for:

  • Creating rooms.

  • Adding construction items.

  • Adding interior objects.

  • Adding exterior objects.


2D and 3D views

Use 2D and 3D in the center of the upper menu to switch between the two views of your project.


Right side

The right side of the upper menu provides additional tools for working with your project

  • Report a problem — send information about your app version and profile when you encounter an issue. Use this option when you need assistance with a problem in the app.

  • Renders — create a render and select its quality. Completed renders are available in the Renders section on the main screen.

  • Ruler — measure distances and check the placement of elements in your project.

  • Draw a room — draw a room in the shape you need.

  • Floors — move between floors or create new ones.

  • Edit — select an object and then select Edit to change its properties.


Android

Main navigation

The bottom menu provides access to the main sections of Planner 5D:

  • Home — return to the main screen, where you can access your projects, contests, and inspiration.

  • Projects — access your floor plans and projects.

  • Gallery — browse floor plans and renders or view items you've saved.

  • Contests — access available design contests.

  • Profile — access your profile and account information.

The Home screen also includes New Project, which you can use to start a new project.


Gallery

Select Gallery from the bottom menu to browse shared designs.

The Gallery includes:

  • Floor Plans

  • Renders

  • My ♥ — view floor plans and renders you've saved.


Right-side menu

The right side of the Editor provides quick access to project and viewing controls.

It includes:

  • 2D/3D — switch between the 2D floor plan and 3D view.

  • Render — open the options for creating a render of your project.

  • Floors — view the floors in your project, switch between them, or add a new floor.

  • Undo — reverse your previous action.

  • Redo — restore an action you previously undid.

  • Settings — access additional project settings and controls.

  • Manage floors — at the bottom right-side menu, you can add additional floors and manage the existing ones.


Create a render

Select the Render option to choose the quality of your render:

  • 4K — 3840 × 2160, best quality.

  • HD — 1280 × 720, high quality.

  • Draft — 640 × 360, low quality.

You can also turn Ceiling lighting and Night mode on or off before creating the render.


Project settings and controls

Open Settings to access Controls and navigation.

Available options include:

  • Virtual joystick

  • Snap to points (for rulers, walls, rooms, paths and lawns)

  • Snap to rulers (for rulers, walls, rooms, paths and lawns)

  • Lock Walls

  • Move walls in one direction

  • Position 3D camera on the first floor


Bottom menu

The bottom menu gives you access to the tools and catalogs used to build and furnish your project.

It includes:

  • Rooms — add rooms to your floor plan.

  • Construction — browse and add construction elements.

  • Interior — browse furniture and other interior items.

  • Exterior — browse items for outdoor areas.

  • Search — search the catalog for a specific item.


Browse the catalog

Select Construction, Interior, or Exterior to browse the available categories and items.

Select a category to view the objects available in it, then choose an item to add it to your project.


Search the catalog

Use Search when you want to find a specific item instead of browsing through the available categories.

  1. Select Search in the bottom menu.

  2. Enter what you want to find.

  3. Review the matching results.

  4. Select the item you want to use in your project.

Windows

Main screen

The main screen gives you access to your projects and account options.

From here, you can:

  • Create a project — select Create project to start a new design.

  • Projects — view your existing projects.

  • Snapshots — switch to Snapshots to access previously created renders.

  • Profile — edit your details, view subscription information, purchase a subscription, or log out to change users.

  • App Settings — access and adjust the Windows app settings.


Top menu

When you open a project, the top menu provides the main controls for working with your design.

It includes:

  • My Projects — return to your projects.

  • 2D/3D — switch between the 2D floor plan and 3D view.

  • Undo/Redo — move backward or forward through your latest actions.

  • Snapshot/Render — create a snapshot or render your design in HD quality.

  • Project Settings — customize your project settings.

  • Ruler — measure distances in your project.

  • Share — access options for sharing your project.

  • Support — submit a ticket if you encounter an issue.

  • Profile — quickly access your profile.


Project Settings

Open Project Settings from the top menu to adjust project options.

The Project tab includes:

  • Project name

  • Objects

  • Lock walls

  • Snap to Walls

  • Snap to Objects

  • Snap to grid

  • Background

The settings also include Dimensions and Thumbnail tabs, as shown in the project menu on page 2 of the documentation.


Left-side menu

The left-side menu contains the tools and catalogs used to build and furnish your project.

It includes:

  • Rooms — create rooms and define the structure of your design.

  • Construction — add construction objects such as doors, windows, stairs, and roofs.

  • Interior — browse and add interior objects.

  • Exterior — browse and add exterior objects.

  • Recently used — access objects you've recently used.

  • Favorites — open the items you've marked as favorites.


Browse the catalog

Select a section from the left-side menu to open its catalog.

For example, the Interior catalog lets you browse furniture and other interior items by category. You can also use the search field at the top of the catalog to find a specific item.
