Before you upload
For the best results, our AI needs a clear "bird's-eye view" of your space.
Following these simple guidelines will ensure a much smoother conversion process.
Do ✅ | Don't ❌ |
Use high-resolution, flat scans or digital files (PDF/DWG). | Use perspective photos (pictures taken at an angle, front views, or landscapes). These are not supported and will not be processed. |
Ensure high contrast between dark walls and light backgrounds. | Upload blurry images or photos with heavy shadows and low lighting. |
Upload one floor per image. | Include multiple floors or different levels in a single file. |
Use files like JPG, PNG, PDF, or DWG. | Upload handwritten sketches or overly decorative, artistic floor plans. |
How to Upload: Web Platform
Web platform offers the option to upload multiple pages.
How to Import Multi-Page PDF Plans
Open My spaces.
Then click on My Space
There you will find the Dashboard
Select Import a Plan.
Upload the PDF: Start by selecting your floor plan file. The system will automaticaly scan the document to identify individual pages or images that look like plans.
Select Pages: From the scanned results, click to select only the pages that contain the actual floor plans.
Note: Skip any pages showing "elevations" (side views), as these aren't processed for the 3D model.
Assign Floors: For each page you've selected, use the dropdown menu to assign it to a specific floor level (e.g., Floor 1, Floor 2, etc.). This ensures everything aligns correctly in your 3D workspace.
Start Recognition: Once your floors are assigned, hit Continue. The recognition process will start in the background. You’ll get a notification and an email once your project is ready to view.
How to Upload: iOS & Android Platform
Open the Planner 5D app and tap Create Project (or New Project).
Choose Upload a floor plan.
Select your file from your device's Photos or Files.
Start the recognition process and wait for the notification that it is finished.
Review the generated layout and use the touch interface to adjust as needed.
How to Upload: macOS & Windows Platform
Launch the desktop app and select New Project.
Choose the Upload a Plan option.
Select your image file from your computer.
Start the recognition and wait for the system to process the layout.
Processing Times
AI plan recognition generally takes between 10 minutes and 24 hours. You will receive an email once your project is ready for editing. The time required depends on:
Plan Complexity: Simpler layouts process faster; intricate designs require more time.
Server Queue: High traffic may increase wait times.
What to do if processing takes longer than 24 hours
If your blueprint remains unprocessed after 24 hours, it is time to reach out to our Support team for help. If you are still within that 24-hour window, we recommend allowing the system more time to complete the recognition.
You will receive an email once your project is ready for editing.
🛠️Troubleshooting
If recognition results are inaccurate
If walls are missing or incorrectly placed, try these adjustments:
Crop the image: Remove extra white space or borders so the AI focuses only on the floor plan.
Increase Contrast: Use a photo editor to make the walls darker and the background whiter.
Refine manually: If the AI missed a few details, you can always manually add missing walls or adjust dimensions once the project is generated.
"Previous task in progress" error
This message appears if the system is still processing an earlier upload.
Wait for the email: The system processes tasks in the order they are received.
Refresh: Close and reopen the app or refresh your browser to update the project list.
Time limit: If this status persists for more than 6 hours, it's time to reach out to our team.
