Digitalising Your Plan (iOS)
Digitalising Your Plan (iOS)

The only way to import a plan is by using our AI recognition feature.

Updated over a year ago

Plan recognition is only available with the Premium subscription.

Note: Upload a plan is only available on the Web, iOS and Android platforms. However, once uploaded to your account, this project will be synced between your devices so you can continue your design on other platforms.

To upload a plan in iOS app follow these steps:

  1. Open the Planner 5D app on your iOS device;

  2. Tap My Projects at the bottom of the screen;

  3. Click the New Project button and pick the 'Upload a floorplan' option from the list;

  4. Choose the file of your floorplan;

  5. You can resize it to ensure only the plan you need to be recognised is in the frame. Once done - hit the 'Select photo' to send the plan for recognition.

That's it! Enable push notification to receive an alert once your plan is ready! It takes from 10 min to 24 hours to process your plan depending on the complexity.

Make sure to follow these guidelines to get the best result:

  1. Our AI can only process JPG/PNG images of your plan;
    We won't accept and process PDF files or other formats. However, you can always take a screenshot of the plan in a different, unsupported format. But make sure the screenshot is under 8192x8192px.

  2. Your plan should be clearly visible;
    If you're uploading a photo of a printed plan, check if there's enough light so the plan is easily readable.

  3. If you're uploading a photo of a paper-based plan that has been folded – we cannot guarantee great results;

  4. Your plan should have dimensions in it.
    Otherwise, we won't reproduce the plan keeping the desired dimensions.

  5. Your plan can have furniture in it;
    However, our AI will recognise and place only basic furniture like a bed, bathroom, tables, doors, etc. AI might not be able to identify and place, let's say, a fridge to your plan.

If you're unsatisfied with the result, please get in touch with our Support team! However, we will ask you to provide us with the following:

  • the original file of a plan you've uploaded;

  • the link to a digitalised plan you've received;

  • your comments on what's missing.

With that info at hand, we can fix any issues for you!
