We have created a short video tutorial, showing how to add a balcony to your plan. Below you can also find written steps to follow to add a balcony to your project.
If you want to add a balcony in Planner 5D, the easiest way is to build it the same way you would build a terrace.
The two main ways to create a balcony
Option 1. Use a ready-made outdoor element
This is the fastest method if you want a simple shape.
Open your project.
Go to Construction.
Open the Terraces section
Choose the model that is closest to your idea.
Add it to the project and drag it into position.
Resize and align it to match the building.
This method works well when you want to create a balcony quickly without drawing the full base from scratch.
Option 2. Build the balcony from scratch
This is the better option when you need a custom size or shape.
Step 1. Create the balcony base in 2D
Open your project and switch to 2D.
If the balcony should be on an upper level, switch to that floor first.
Add a new room or shape next to the main room. This new shape will become the balcony platform.
Hide all walls of that balcony-room.
Hide its ceiling.
Adjust the size and position until it matches the balcony layout you want.
If the balcony is not a simple rectangle, shape it further by adjusting corners and dimensions.
Step 2. Style it in 3D
Switch to 3D.
Open the materials or textures panel.
Apply an outdoor finish such as decking, tile, or stone.
You can use Fences and gates in the Build/Construction section to replace walls of the balcony if it's an open one.
Check the balcony from different angles and adjust its placement if needed.
Step 3. Add details
Once the base is in place, you can finish the balcony with outdoor elements such as:
outdoor furniture
plants
lighting
columns
a simple cover or pergola effect
If you want a covered balcony, we suggest placing Columns and using a Magic Cube as a top element, then resizing it to act as a cover.
