What if I accidentally deleted the project or item?

Don’t worry, it’s not possible to delete the project on any platform and if you accidentally removed an item while editing, you can always add it back again.

Updated over a week ago

You can only archive the project and the good news is that after the project has been archived, you can quickly restore it.

Understanding the reasons projects are archived or go missing can lead to quicker resolutions and better project management. Common reasons include accidental deletions, sync errors, or accessing the wrong account.

Steps and Tips for Troubleshooting and Restoring Missing Projects

  1. Sign in on the Web platform

Sign in to your Planner 5D account in a browser. Make sure you use the same credentials you use on other platforms (email + security code).

  2. Open My Projects

    1. Open Planner 5D in your browser and make sure you’re logged in.

    2. Look in the top-right corner of the page.

    3. Click the green My Projects button.

You’ll be taken to the main screen where all your active projects are listed.

  3. Restore the project from Archive

    1. On the left-hand side menu, find and click Archive.

    2. In the archived projects list, find the project you want to restore.

    3. Click the three dots (⋯) on the project thumbnail.

    4. Select Restore.

✅ That’s it, the project will move back to your active projects and will be available on all platforms you’re using.

How to restore an item you deleted while working on a project

If you accidentally removed a piece of furniture or decor, don’t worry, you can usually bring it back right away.

Option 1: Undo the change (fastest)

Use Undo immediately after deleting the item:

  • Web/Windows app/macOS: click the Undo button (or use the keyboard shortcut CTRL / CMND + Z)

  • iOS/Android: tap the Undo arrow in the editor toolbar (if available)

This restores the last action, including a deleted object.

Option 2: Add the item again from the catalog

If Undo isn’t available since you’ve already made other changes:

  1. Open the Catalog menu.

  2. Find the same item again (browse or use search).

  3. Place it back in the room and adjust its position/rotation as needed.

Tip If you’re not sure which exact item it was, look for it in the same category you originally used (e.g., Sofas, Tables, Lighting) and re-place it in the same spot.

Preventing Project Loss and Sync Issues To ensure the integrity of your work and avoid losing projects:

  1. Sync Before Switching Devices:

    • Exit the app and allow your project to upload fully to the servers before opening it on another device.

    • Check your online status and ensure all changes are saved.

  2. Avoid Simultaneous Edits:

    • Do not open the same project in multiple devices or tabs at the same time to prevent sync conflicts.

  3. Maintain Redundancy:

    • Regularly duplicate your projects to create backups, safeguarding against unexpected data loss.

FAQs

  1. Why did my project disappear after closing the app?
If synchronization hasn't completed before closing the app, changes might not save or may overwrite on other devices. Always confirm a proper sync before switching devices.

  2. How can I access projects during website maintenance?
Projects are temporarily unavailable during maintenance but will reappear once services resume. Avoid creating or editing new projects during this time.
