How do I create a separate wall with a different height?

If you need one wall section to be taller or shorter than the rest of the room, there is one important limitation to keep in mind:

You cannot change the height of just one standard room wall. In Planner 5D, wall height is applied to the whole room.

If you want a separate wall with a different height, use one of the methods below.

Best option for all platforms: use the Magic Cube

The Magic Cube is the most flexible way to create a custom-height wall, half wall, divider, niche, or other wall-like structure.

  1. Open your project.

  2. Select the room where the wall extension will be created and in the bottom menu select Hide the ceiling. Otherwise it will always be in a way

  3. Go to Build or Construction.

  4. Open the Forms section and select Magic Cube.

  5. Place the Magic Cube where you want the extension of the wall to appear.

  6. Adjust its width, depth, and height so it matches the wall you need.

  7. Apply a wall texture or material so it blends with the surrounding walls.

  8. Move and align it until it visually matches the existing wall.

Important to know

  • The Magic Cube is a 3D object, not a standard wall.

  • It will not snap to or merge with room walls.

  • If you need a perfect visual connection, place it so it touches the wall and align the edges manually.

  • You can also rotate or tilt it in 3D if you are building sloped or custom wall shapes.

Troubleshooting

I can't find the Magic Cube

Check Build or the house icon, then open Forms and choose the cube. Some users miss it because it is inside the Forms section rather than in the main wall tools.

My upper floor looks like it's floating

Planner 5D builds the next floor from the highest wall on the floor below. If one room has a taller height than the others, the floor above may appear raised or leave a gap.

To fix it, review the room heights one by one and reduce any room that is taller than intended.

I need a half wall

Use the Magic Cube and set its height lower than the standard room wall. This is also the recommended method for short dividers and custom-height sections.
