How to Merge Projects

We do not currently support merging projects into one. However, on the Web version, you can copy and paste rooms or items from one project to another using keyboard shortcuts.

Before you start

  • Projects cannot be merged automatically.

  • The easiest workaround is available on the Web version of Planner 5D.

    • Rooms and items must be copied manually

  • If you're using a Planner 5D app, you'd need to Duplicate project and remove items or rooms you do not need.

How to Copy Items between projects

  1. Open the project containing the items you want to copy;

  2. Hold the Shift key and use the left mouse button to select multiple items;

  3. Press Ctrl + C / CMND + C to copy the selected items

  4. Open the project where you want to place them

  5. Press Ctrl + V / CMND + V to paste the copied items

How to Copy Rooms

Rooms and furniture are copied automatically together with furniture:

To copy a room:

  1. Select the room

  2. Use Ctrl + C / CMND + C to copy it

  3. Open the destination project

  4. Use Ctrl + V / CMND + V to paste it

If it doesn't work

If nothing is copied, please check:

  • The items are properly selected before copying

  • You are using keyboard shortcuts on your keyboard

If this didn’t solve it

You can try using the Duplicate option to create a full copy of the project.

If you continue experiencing issues, please contact Support and describe the situation in more detail, including what exactly you were trying to copy and the steps you attempted.

Known limitations

  • Rooms and items need manual repositioning after pasting

  • Some project settings are not transferred between projects, for example; settings for renders.
