About the Program for Schools and Universities

Planner 5D provides free Educational licenses to verified employees of schools, universities, and other educational institutions so they can use Planner 5D with their students. Educational access is granted for 365 days, and student licenses can be reused

Who can apply?

Educational licenses are provided to employees of educational institutions, such as teachers, professors, assistants, or other eligible staff members.

Before Educational access can be granted, Planner 5D must confirm that the applicant works for the educational institution.

Individual students should receive access through their teacher rather than applying for the Educational program themselves.

Before You Apply

Create your Planner 5D account using your school or institutional email address.

Your Planner 5D account must use an email address associated with your educational institution's domain.

If your account was created with a personal email address, change it to your school email before the Educational licenses can be added.

You do not have to contact Planner 5D Support from your work email address, but the Planner 5D account receiving the Educational licenses must use your work or school email.

What information may be required when applying?

When processing an Educational license request, Planner 5D may require information such as:

  • Your name

  • Your position at the educational institution

  • The school or university name

  • The course where Planner 5D will be used

  • The number of licenses required

  • Your Planner 5D account email

  • Information needed to verify your employment

How can I apply?

To apply for the Educational Program, please visit https://planner5d.com/education, complete the application form, and submit your request.

Once your application has been submitted, our team will review it and get back to you as soon as possible.

How eligibility is verified

Planner 5D verifies that the applicant is currently employed by the educational institution before approving the request.

Your employment may be confirmed through an official public source, such as a school or university staff directory. If your employment cannot be verified online, you may be asked to provide proof of employment.

Examples of information that can be used to confirm your employment include:

  • An official school or university page showing your name and position

  • A teacher identification card issued by your institution

  • An employment verification letter

  • Another official document confirming your employment

The information provided must clearly identify you and your affiliation with the educational institution.

If your employment cannot be confirmed, Educational licenses cannot be added.

How long does Educational access last?

Approved Educational access is provided for 365 days.

If you need to continue using the Educational program after your current access expires, your employment with the educational institution must be verified again. Once your eligibility is confirmed, Educational access can be renewed for another 365 days.

How many student licenses can I request?

There is no fixed maximum number of Educational licenses that can be added to an eligible teacher's account.

If you're requesting more than 150 educational licenses, please let us know whether you'll be teaching all the students yourself or if other teachers will also be involved.

Educational licenses cannot be shared among teachers, so if multiple teachers are teaching the course, each teacher will need to submit a separate application.

Can licenses be reused?

Yes. Educational licenses are reusable.

When a student no longer needs access, you can revoke their license and make it available for another student. This allows the same license allocation to be reused for different classes, groups, or semesters instead of requesting a completely new set of licenses each time.

There is no need to keep inactive students assigned to licenses that are needed for a new group.

What if I need more licenses?

If you already have Educational access and later need additional licenses, your allocation can be updated.

When requesting a change, make it clear whether you need:

  • A specific number of additional licenses

  • A new total number of licenses for your account

For example, if you currently have 70 licenses and now need 60 licenses in total, the total allocation should be changed to 60 rather than adding another 60 licenses.

If licenses are still assigned to students who are no longer attending the class, revoke those licenses first so they can be reused.

What if several teachers need licenses?

Each teacher should have their own Planner 5D account and complete the eligibility verification separately.

Educational licenses for several teachers should not all be placed under one teacher's account. Each teacher should:

  1. Create their own Planner 5D account using their school email address.

  2. Complete employment verification.

  3. Receive the required student licenses on their own account.

What happens when a student's access is revoked?

When you revoke a student's Educational access, the student can no longer log in to that account using the same email address.

If the student wants to continue using Planner 5D for personal purposes, they can create a new account using a personal email address.

Can I purchase renders for my students?

Renders are not automatically distributed to student accounts through the Educational license allocation.

If you want to provide renders to students:

  1. Purchase the required number of renders on your teacher account.

  2. Contact Planner 5D Support.

  3. Provide the email addresses of the student accounts.

  4. Specify how many renders should be assigned to each student.

The requested renders are then transferred from your available render balance to the specified student accounts.

For example, if you want to provide 5 renders to one student and 10 renders to another, a total of 15 renders must be available on your teacher account.
