How to Use 3-axis rotation

The 3-axis rotation tool allows you to rotate objects around the X, Y, and Z axes in 3D space. Unlike standard rotation, which rotates an object horizontally, 3-axis rotation lets you adjust its orientation freely.

3-axis rotation

Must be enabled in Settings.

View mode

Available only in 3D mode.

2D view

Rotations around the X and Z axes are not displayed in 2D mode.


Enable 3-axis rotation

  1. Open Settings.

  2. Enable 3-Axis Object Rotation.

Rotate an object using angle controls

  1. Select an object in your project.

  2. Use the controls at the bottom of the screen.

  3. Enter values for:

    • Angle X

    • Angle Y

    • Angle Z

The object updates immediately as you change the values.


Rotate an object using the rotation gizmo

The gizmo consists of three colored rings. Drag a ring to rotate the object around the corresponding axis.

  1. Select an object.

  2. Choose Rotation from the object menu.

  3. Use the rotation gizmo displayed around the object.

Exit 3-axis rotation mode

To leave rotation mode:

  • Click anywhere outside the selected object.

  • Or click Exit (×).


Discard changes

If you do not want to keep the changes made during the current editing session, click Discard Changes and the object will return to its previous rotation values.
