How to Use 3D Mode

3D Mode allows you to view your project in a realistic environment and better understand the layout, object placement, colors, and overall design.

Planner 5D offers a valuable 3D visualization feature, which provides a realistic perspective on your design.

Note: Always ensure that your device has enough free space and no other applications conflict with the Planner 5D app for smooth 3D processing.

How to switch between 2D and 3D Mode

On Web

Use the 2D / 3D toggler in the editor menu to switch between modes.

On iOS

Tap the 3D button in the editor menu to open 3D Mode.

On Android

Tap the 3D button in the editor menu to open 3D Mode.

On macOS

Use the 2D / 3D toggler in the application menu.

On Windows

Use the mode switch button in the application menu to switch between 2D and 3D modes.

If 3D Mode does not load on Windows

Try lowering the graphics quality:

  1. Open the project list page

  2. Click the gear icon

  3. Locate the Quality setting

  4. Select a lower graphics quality

  5. Restart the app and try again

Recommended workflow

We recommend regularly switching between 2D and 3D modes while designing to:

  • Check object placement

  • Review colors and materials

  • Better understand room proportions

  • Verify the overall appearance of the project

Common problems

If 3D Mode is slow or frozen

Large or complex projects may require more device resources.

Try:

  • Returning to 2D Mode temporarily

  • Closing other applications

  • Making sure your device has enough free storage

If your device struggles with complex projects

Some devices may not be able to process projects with a large number of objects.

You can try:

  • Splitting the project into smaller projects

  • Opening the project on the Web version

  • Reducing project complexity

Known limitations

  • Performance depends on device specifications and project complexity

  • Projects with many objects may require more processing power

  • Some older devices may experience slower rendering in 3D Mode

If this didn’t solve it

If you continue experiencing issues with 3D Mode:

  • Update Planner 5D to the latest version

  • Restart your device

  • Reinstall the app (mobile and desktop apps only)

  • Try opening the project on another platform or device

When to contact support

Contact Support if:

  • 3D Mode does not load

  • The project crashes while entering 3D Mode

  • Transparent walls are not working correctly

  • The project appears empty or blue in 3D Mode

Include:

  • Platform used

  • App/browser version

  • Screen recording or screenshots

  • Project link (if possible)

This helps the team investigate the issue faster.
