How to Move or Position a room using the Ruler (Web)

Trying to leave an exact gap between your house and the plot boundary (for a yard, path, or fence line)? You can absolutely do that with Ruler.

Updated yesterday

🤔How it works (quick note)

The Ruler measurements won’t change dynamically when you drag a wall or room. Instead, you set the ruler to the distance you want, adjust your layout, and re-check as needed.

📌Step-by-step

  1. Open your project in the Web editor and switch to 2D view.

  2. Click on the Ruler tool, it can be found in the upper toolbar in the project.

  3. Place the ruler between the room (or wall) and the plot boundary.

  4. Manually set the ruler to the exact distance you want (for example, 1.0 m or 2.5 m).

  5. Please keep in mind that the Ruler is manual, so it won’t automatically update while you move walls or rooms.

Tips for best results

  • Zoom in before fine-tuning, small moves are much easier to control.

  • Check one side at a time (left, right, top, bottom) to keep things tidy.

  • If you’re spacing for landscaping, using a consistent ruler distance helps keep paths/lawns even.
